We recognize excellence in microbiology and its contribution to society through our high-profile awards programme. With the launch of two new awards, we aim to strengthen connections between academia and industry and support career development for microbiologists in applied microbiology, and help promote the importance of microbiology education.

Industry & Innovation Award
This Award in particular aims to recognize an outstanding microbiologist or group of microbiologists with distinguished achievements in the development of products, processes or technologies. The Awardee receives among others an invitation to give a talk at the upcoming FEMS Congress.

Education Development Award
Education is crucial for microbiologists to develop the skills and knowledge to keep up to date with recent developments, a changing world and changing research priorities. This Award can help promote the importance of microbiology education. Among the prizes is an invitation to give a presentation at the next Summer School on Microbiology Education.
