FEMS Journals Grants: Investing in science

12-04-2018

We are delighted to announce the FEMS Journals Grants, which will award an additional €8000 in funding to support early career researchers. This additional funding would not have been possible without the 40 FEMS Journals editors who waived their annual remuneration fee for handling journal manuscripts.

This additional funding will feed directly into the next round of the FEMS Research and Training Grants (application deadline 1 July 2018). The FEMS Research and Training Grants support and nurture early career researchers to learn new skills and collaborate on new projects at a host institute in a different European country to their country of residence. These grants are intended to support the travel and living costs of the grantee.

You can apply for this grant before the deadline of 1 July 2018 if you:

  • are an active microbiologist having obtained your highest degree less than five years prior to the application deadline date
  • or if you are currently a PhD student.

We extend a huge thanks to our journal editors who have enabled this additional funding for early career researchers. This is wonderful testament to the commitment of our community in investing in the future of science.
