Grants deadlines coming up in December and January - FEMS

Grants deadlines coming up in December and January

18-10-2019

Are you a member of a FEMS Member Society*? And are you organizing a meeting, planning a lab visit or planning to follow a training? Now is the time to apply for a FEMS Grant, the deadlines for the Research and Training Grants and Meeting Organizer Grants, they are closing in rapidly!

Deadline Meeting Organizer Grants: 1 December 2019
Deadline Research and Training Grants: 1 January 2020

Research and Training Grants assist early career scientists in pursuing research and training at a European host institution in a country other than their own country of residence (and exceptionally to support research and training projects outside Europe). These grants may be used to contribute to travel, accommodation and subsistence costs of making the visit. Support is limited to a maximum of €4000. Complete applications should be submitted on or before: 1 January 2020 for projects that will start within a year from 1 March 2020.

FEMS also supports selected meetings within the European Area with a Meeting Organizer Grant. Scientific conferences, laboratory workshops and training courses will be considered for such support. The maximum amount of a Meeting Organizer Grant is € 15 000. The Meeting Organizer Grant replaces two of our former grants: National and Regional Congresses Grant and the Meeting Grants. A minimum of 60% of total grant value of the Meeting Organizer Grant is to be used to support the attendance of Early Career Scientists. Complete applications should be submitted on or before the deadlines 1 December 2019 for meetings taking place between 1 June 2020 and 31 May 2021.

*By joining one of our Member Societies, you receive the benefits from FEMS on top of those of the society you join. One of these benefits is the eligibility to apply for FEMS grants. You can find a list of Member Societies here. Please note that members of the Kazakhstan Association of Human Microbiome Researchers and the Georgian Association for General and Applied Microbiology can apply for FEMS Grants starting 1 January 2020. They can apply for the upcoming Meeting Organizer Grants, but not yet for the upcoming Research and Training Grants.
