After two years of reviewing and renewing our governance processes,  our Council elected our new Directors for the period 2018 – 2020: Dr Vaso Taleski (Macedonian Microbiological Society) for the portfolio Events & Internationalization, Dr Andriy Sibirny (Society of Microbiologists of Ukraine) for Education & Public Engagement and Dr Patrik Bavoil (USA) for Research & Publications. As they start in January, Dr Per-Eric Lindgren, Dr Joanna Verran and Dr Jim Prosser will step down from their positions. We would like to thank them for their impressive contribution to the microbiology community, and will miss working with them!

Jim Prosser’s advice to Patrik Bavoil: “The board is the only place where medium and long term aims are thought of strategically. It’s crucial that the new board member comes up with goods strategic plans for research and of course also for continuing the quality of existing publications and maybe new publications.”
