Out Now: Thematic Issue on China Soil Microbiome

22-11-2019
Soil is alive, and soil microorganisms are the driving force of elemental biogeochemical cycling and the bridge linking above- and below-ground ecosystem interactions. Thus, we are very happy to announce the publication of a new Thematic Issue and a Virtual issue of papers on the Soil Microbiome in China in our journal FEMS Microbiology Ecology.

The Thematic Issue is guest edited by Haiyan Chu and Yong-Guan Zhu and features specially commissioned and curated articles, that are the very latest research on the topic. This Thematic Issue focuses on various aspects of soil microbiology in China, including soil microbial biogeography, microbial biogeochemical cycling, and interactions between plants and microbes.

The Virtual Issue is a collection of previously published articles by Chinese authors on the topic of the soil microbiome, chosen by Editor-in-Chief, Max Häggblom, as additional recommended reading.
